Truworths is looking for a Trainee Fashion Designer with a passion for trend-spotting, research, and creative design. This role offers the chance to influence the unique look and feel of Truworths’ brands by bringing international and local fashion trends to life. Based at the Head Office in Cape Town, you’ll collaborate with Buyers and design teams to ensure consumers receive the most on-trend products each season.

Responsibilities

• Research international and local product trends, adapting them for the SA market
• Assist Buyers in building ranges with new fabrics, colours, and key looks
• Design specific product areas while contributing to ad hoc team projects
• Attend international trade fairs and fashion capitals (where possible) to gather trend insights

Qualifications

• Fashion design qualification or related field
• Knowledge of fabric and garment construction
• Graphic design knowledge (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) advantageous
